Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. Ginger
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup Nuts ’N More Apple Crisp High Protein Peanut Spread
- 3 tbsp. canola oil
- 3/4 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar + 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F and prepare a donut pan with cooking spray, set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, spices and salt, stirring to combine.
- In another large bowl, combine nuts’n more Apple Crisp Spread, oil, apple cider, syrup, apple cider vinegar, egg and vanilla.
- Whisk until smooth, then pour the wet mixture into the dry and fold the batter until evenly incorporated.
- Divide the batter among the cavities of the donut pan – each should be filled to the top but not overflowing.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool slightly, then coat each in a thin layer of melted butter before dipping into cinnamon sugar mixture. Set aside to cool completely.
